Born in Phoenix’s Arcadia Neighborhood. Created to Refine Phoenix Roofing.
PHOENIX, ARIZONA — Heirloom Roofing is a new name with deep roots in the Valley, founded by lifelong friends Nicholas Thor Kulyniak and Erik Wiersum.
Born and raised in the Arcadia neighborhood of Phoenix, Nick and Erik grew up among the homes, streets and familiar surroundings that would later shape their vision for Heirloom.
Their friendship began at Tavan Elementary School, long before either had ever conceived of entering the Phoenix roofing industry. Over the decades, friendship became brotherhood, and brotherhood became a natural business partnership.
Heirloom is their next chapter. However, it is not their first.
Before founding the company, Nick and Erik led one of North Scottsdale’s most successful and respected roofing and general contracting companies.
Nick served as General Manager, overseeing the company’s broader direction, operations, marketing, growth and public identity. Erik served as Managing Director of Client Outreach and Growth, developing relationships and opportunities that helped carry the organization into new homes, new markets and a more prominent position throughout the Valley.
During their tenure, the company reached nearly $100 million in roofing and construction projects across Arizona, encompassing thousands of homes, commercial properties and restoration projects. What began as a local contractor grew into a collection of businesses spanning roofing, general construction, insurance restoration, solar and specialty fabrication.
Its presence grew with it.
Under Nick’s leadership, the organization was named the exclusive Official Roofer of the Phoenix Suns and Phoenix Mercury. More than a sponsorship, the relationship reflected years spent building the reputation, visibility and trust required to represent one of Arizona’s most recognized institutions.
Nick was also responsible for the company achieving two finalist nominations for the Better Business Bureau Torch Awards for Ethics, recognition reserved for businesses demonstrating an exceptional commitment to quality, integrity and community.
Together, Nick and Erik helped build an organization supported by thousands of clients and connected to many of Arizona’s leading builders, suppliers, insurance professionals, public adjusters and construction specialists.
Those years taught them how a successful company grows and also how they can fail.
More importantly, they revealed what was still missing from the Phoenix roofing experience.
For all its importance, roofing had become remarkably uniform. The same language. The same presentation. The same hurried appointments, interchangeable proposals and forgettable experience.
A roof is one of the most consequential investments made in a home, yet the process surrounding it rarely reflects the significance of the decision.
Nick and Erik believed it could feel different.
Heirloom Roofing was created in Phoenix’s Arcadia neighborhood to offer something more considered. A Phoenix roofing company with the knowledge and capability of a major organization, expressed through a more personal, elevated and beautifully presented experience.
From the first conversation to the final detail, Heirloom is designed to feel deliberate.
The way the company presents itself. The people invited to represent it. The clarity of its recommendations. The care shown to the property. The restraint to advise rather than pressure. The confidence to allow the experience to speak for itself.
Heirloom was not created simply to place another roofing company in Phoenix.
It was created to bring distinction to an industry that had largely forgotten it.
The company believes a homeowner should feel proud of the roofing company arriving at the property. The name on the vehicle, the appearance of the representative and the manner in which the work is conducted should complement the home rather than feel separate from it.
There should be a quiet pleasure in choosing well.
Something neighbors notice.
Something remembered long after the project is complete.
That philosophy extends far beyond appearance. Refinement, to Heirloom, means making a complicated process feel composed. It means informed recommendations, attentive communication and a standard of service that never feels ordinary.
The company brings the experience of nearly $100 million in completed roofing and construction projects, along with thousands of Arizona properties served, into a more intimate kind of organization. One where substantial knowledge is paired with thoughtful service, and where growth will never be permitted to diminish personal attention.
The name was chosen deliberately.
An heirloom is not valuable merely because it lasts. It is valuable because it has been chosen carefully, cared for properly and considered worthy of passing forward.
Nick and Erik believe a home deserves the same consideration.
Born in the Arcadia neighborhood of Phoenix and built upon years of experience throughout Phoenix, Scottsdale and the greater Valley, Heirloom Roofing represents the culmination of everything they learned about growth, service, reputation and the importance of doing things with intention.
A new company, a new standard set.
Heirloom Roofing. Roofing Refined.
